My name is Cory Blechar and I am very excited to be returning to Flagstone Elementary as ​your child's 6th grade math teacher. Last year was my fith year at Flagstone but previously I spent ten years working at Acres Green Elementary School where I spent two year teaching 6th grade. Before teaching 6th grade, I worked in their BASE program. I worked as the assistant director and interim director while finishing my teaching degree. I can't wait to collaborate with your child and help them reach new academic heights. 

 

I have been with my wife, also a teacher , for 23 years- married for 15. We have two wonderful children. Our daughter, Cadence, is 10 years old ​and our son, Torin, is 7 years old. They will both attend FSE this year in 5th and 2nd grades. We have three dogs, a hound mix named Tallulah, a black lab mix named Odin, and a Great Dane named Isla. We spend as much time as we can camping, hiking, snowboarding, or at our family cabin. I enjoy gardening and working with my hands as well.

We will work together as a class to build a positive learning environment where your child can excel at learning. Whenever possible, we will incorporate problem solving, group work, and leadership as these are skills that are essential to success in the 21st century and encourage a deeper understanding of the subject matter being covered.
